Sooo... Sloany did this last year and I thought it was super cool. She wrote a blog post about important people in her life on their birthday, and why they are so cool. So I will try it this year. Sorry Justin if I embarrass you!
The first time I met Justin, I liked him. Me and Cord went up to Utah State to an Anberlin concert with Sloan and some of her friends. Justin just happened to be among them. Within an hour or two, I noticed how protective Justin was of my little sister during the semi-moshing that was going on. I told Cord he definitely had a crush on her, but I thought it was great. :)
Sloan would talk to me about Justin on the phone, and he sounded like a genuinely great guy. He knew what he wanted out of life, he had a great sense of humor, but most importantly, he treated my sister awesome.
When they got engaged, I was thrilled. I can't imagine a greater brother-in-law. Justin has fit right in with me and Sloan's (and sometimes Cord's) strange little senses of humor. He enjoys Harvest Moon as much as we do (this is a deal-breaker). He is super fun to talk medical stuff with (yes I'm a weirdo that is genuinely fascinated by how the human body works). He is a hard worker, and takes great care of Sloan. He has a strong testimony, and I admire that about him.
So pretty much, Justin is cool! I am glad Sloan married him and he is a part of our family now!
Happy (late) Birthday Justin!

3 Months Old!
I can't believe Baby Aria is already 3 months old! Time flies when you are having fun, I guess. It's crazy how much she's changed from when she was born.
They are backwards but that's ok. Ha.
They are backwards but that's ok. Ha.
- Aria has crazy awesome leg strength! One of her favorite things to do is stand up with us helping her.
- She is full of smiles, and every couple days we get a giggle! Only if we are super funny though...
- She can roll over both ways! Fortunately she's not doing that too often quite yet..
- She is SO vocal. She coos, yells, sighs, and sometimes screams. In an attention-getting sort of way. Little diva...
- Bottom line- we love her. It is so fun to get to know her little personality!

Christmas, Anniversary, Cord's Birthday, and Aria's Blessing
Wow that's a lot! December is definitely a busy month for us.
First off- our anniversary. It was my turn to plan the two year anniversary this year, but with us having a two-month old, I figured I'd better keep it pretty low-key. Since we'd been having a raging party if we didn't. So I had my mom watch Aria while Cord and I went to the Melting Pot! Which is basically one of our favorite restaurants ever. It was so nice to have 3 hours of uninterrupted us-time. Cord got me my hair dyed red (yes that was my present) and I got him Call of Duty: Ghosts. Doesn't get more exciting than that, folks. Here's to another year of happy married bliss!
Next up-Christmas time! So this year we were with my side of the family for Christmas Eve. That morning, we went to my parents' for evilskivers breakfast (yum). We hung out with my family all day, then that evening we went out to my Aunt Julie's for Christmas Eve dinner. It was super fun! We played White Elephant and scored some serious wins. Just sayin. Basically we had our "Christmas" with my family that day, so we did all our gift-exchanging then. Cord got a Blu-Ray player, I got a gift card to Kohl's, and we got a high chair for Aria. Aria scored big and got a bouncy seat play thing that I just know she is going to love.
Christmas Day we spent with the Baileys. We had Christmas breakfast with Cord's parents, then went downstairs to have our own little Christmas. We got Aria a storybook projector that plays music. It's super awesome. Later that day, Cord's brother Seth and sister Erin and their families came up. We did a big huge Skype with the WHOLE family... chaotic and so fun! We had Christmas dinner, and exchanged gifts with everyone. Cord got some 72-hour kit stuff, and I got some freezer meals and a gift card to Target! Aria got a walker :)
Okay, Cord's Birthday! It is on New Year's Eve, which makes it kinda hard to plan anything. We ended up deciding to go to Winger's (his favorite restaurant) and invited his friends if they could make it. Dave, Collin, and Chris ended up coming with their families, which was fun because we never see any of them since they live far away! I gave Cord the newest Assassin's Creed (are we getting the video game theme here?)
That night ended eventfully with a trip to the ER. My throat had been swollen for a couple days, and I thought it was allergies. But finally that night it was feeling like I was having a tough time swallowing, so we went to the hospital. It's important to breathe I suppose. In a surprise twist, they told me they thought I had bronchitis, so that's been fun this past week to deal with.
New Year's Day was fun... except for being sleep-deprived. It was spent with both sides of the family, which is the best way to spend a holiday, in my opinion.
Last things last... Aria's blessing! It was today. Cord and I are both the kind of people that hate being the center of attention. So today was a hard day for us, ha ha. We had to get up super early to get us all ready to be there by 9, which was fun. Luckily Aria was on moderately-good behavior today. Her blessing was beautiful. It is so great to have a husband worthy to hold the priesthood. I even bore my testimony. WHOA. Everyone came up to the Bailey house after the blessing for brunch. It was so fun to visit with everyone!
And that basically sums up the past month! We are just getting ready to dive into this new year! Cord and I both start school tomorrow! Life is going to be busy!
