A Tried-And-True Diet

Looking to lose a couple extra pounds?  I have just the thing.  It's called pregnancy.  Your appetite changes like crazy.  You feel starving but 3 bites in you're totally full.  Or just the thought of food makes you sick.  Or you eat and then throw it all back up immediately.  If you combine all these things you're bound to lose weight (which I have-9 pounds to be exact).
But seriously.  I'm starting to worry a little.  Shouldn't I be gaining by now??  I'm 14 weeks.  The funny part is that even though I've lost all this weight, my tummy has definitely started to stick out.  It's almost cute.  Ha.  Oh well.  I guess the little nugget is still getting the nutrients it needs.
Ok I'm starting to freak out about becoming a parent a little.  Why?  Well I'm on a birth board and basically it's a bunch of pregnant women also due in October that clearly have way too much time on their hands.  But they get on there and debate about EVERYTHING parenting-related.  Will you breastfeed or formula-feed?  Cloth or disposable diaper?  Will you let them drink juice?  Will you wake them up to feed them or let them wake up when they're hungry?  Will they sleep in your room or in their own?  I DON'T KNOW.  Yikes.  I don't know how to be a good parent!  Ha ha.  Wing it?
We cleared out the baby's room finally, so I guess that's my cue to start buying stuff?  I don't know what to buy.  I have no idea.
Also, apparently this is the week where Bambi's hearing has developed enough that heshe can hear my talk.  This makes me feel like I should be singing lullabies.  Or hymns.  And stop jamming out to music in my car.  What if the heshe hates it??  Ha ha I clearly have too much time on my hands to think.
Cord's hiring date got moved back a week because his background check hasn't come back yet, which made it so we had to push ultrasound appointment back to MAY 9.  Wah!  I don't want to wait that long!  I was probably ridiculously upset about it for more than a minute.  Hormones?
May is just an exciting month all around.  Sloan's wedding, finding out the gender of the lil' nugget, attending Sloan and Garrett's endowments, sending Gar Gar off on his mish... lots of fun stuff.

I Survived

I survived the flu, I survived the constant throwing up thanks to the Tamiflu, and I even survived a normal work week through it all.
Cord has finally officially gotten hired on at L-3.  I am so happy about this, because it means we can for reals get a house this fall!  No more apartments for us!  Anyways, his first day officially with the company is the 15th.  Speaking of the 15th, still haven't done our taxes.  That is my number one priority tomorrow.
Turns out Harley had all sorts of bacteria up in her digestive tract, so we had a fun trip to the vet to get her checked out and get some medicine.  Luckily she's doing better now though.
I've spent the past couple days helping my house recover from me being sick for a week.  Laundry and dishes had piled up like crazy, and our apartment became a health hazard.  It's getting back to normal, though.
Cord has officially torn his ACL and is scheduled for surgery the last day of April.  Now he is doing physical therapy and he just loves it.
We get to find out baby's gender on April 29!  I can't wait.  It will feel so much more real then, I think, when instead of saying, "It's making me fat," I can say "He/She is making me fat."  And then we can also get more serious about naming.
